Are There Really Such Animals as Ligers and Tigons?

in

These creatures really do exist. There are the cubs of rare crossings between lions and tigers. If the father is a lion and the mother is a tigress, the cub is called a liger. If the father is a tiger and the mother is a lioness, the cub is called a tigon.

Because these crossings are so rare, there are less than a half-dozen of these creatures in captivity today!
