Do All Liquids Freeze at the Same Temperature?

No. Each liquid has its own freezing point. Water, for example, freezes at 32° Fahrenheit (0° Celsius).

Mercury freezes at a lower temperature, -38° F. (-39° C), a good reason why it is used in most thermometers.

Salt water, or seawater, freezes at about 28.5° F. (-1.9° C), lower than fresh water because of the extra salt in it.

Alcohol freezes at -202° F. (-130° C). Because of this extremely low freezing point, alcohol is mixed with water in car radiators to keep the water from freezing during the winter.
