How high does a sound have to go before its frequency will damage the human ear?

Loudness hurts the ear, but frequency doesn’t, even if it’s really annoying.

Once it goes above a certain frequency, the human ear simply won’t hear it.

Also, as you get older, you will lose hearing in more of the higher frequency range. This can also happen if you damage your hearing by subjecting your eardrums to extremely high sound pressure level sources like rock concerts.

You may look like a dork, but you’ll save your hearing.
