How Much Blood Do You Have in Your Body?

The amount of blood in a person's body depends on how big he or she is, and surprisingly enough, on where that person lives.

For example, if you weigh about 80 pounds, you have about 2.5 quarts of blood in your body, while your 160-pound father has about five quarts, or twice as much. When you were an infant, perhaps about one month old, you had only about ten ounces of blood in your body.

If you live in high mountain areas where there is less oxygen in the air, you might have up to two more quarts of blood in your body. This additional blood is necessary to capture the extra oxygen your body needs to work and grow at greater altitudes.

How big is the universe

The universe is so big that no one in the world knows exactly how large it is.

The universe is expanding all the time, according to the astronomers who study space. This theory has been proved by the movement of the galaxies, asteroids and even our own Solar System, which are apparently moving away from the centre of the universe. Scientists believe that the future of the universe is either that it will keep expanding forever, or that eventually it will decrease in size and eventually crush everything inside it in a process called the Big Crunch.

The universe is so big that it would be virtually impossible to measure the universe in kilometres. Scientists think that nothing in the whole universe can go faster than light, so they've come up a measurement called a light year, which is masically as long as the distance light travels in one year.

A probe called COBE mapped the whole universe temperately. When you look at the photograph, you can see where areas in the universe are warm or cool.
