What is a good recipe to make bubble liquid for blowing bubbles?

Most of us have an inexplicable fascination with bubbles.

Even Mark Twain once noted, “A soap bubble is the most beautiful thing, and the most exquisite in nature. I wonder how much it would take to buy a soap bubble, if there was only one in the world.”

Fortunately for us, there’s not.

Here’s a simple recipe you can use to make your own great bubble juice:

Two cups of water

One ounce of either Joy or Dawn liquid dishwashing detergent (these brands make the best bubbles)

One ounce of plain glycerin (makes bubbles last longer by thickening the skin of the bubble. But don’t use rose-scented—, the alcohol-based scent weakens the strength of the glycerin)

For variations in size, try blowing bubbles through the back of a lawn chair, a straw, or a coat hanger—anything with a hole will work.

Good luck!
