What U.S. president slept through most of his term in presidency?

President David Rice Atcheson slept through most of his term in presidency.

He was president for one day, March 4, 1849.

James Polk’s term ended then, but Zachary Taylor refused to be sworn in on a Sunday so the job went automatically to the senate president pro tern.

“I slept most of that Sunday,” Atcheson admitted, and Taylor was sworn in the next day.
