• other antidepressants
• asthma medicines like Tornalate (bitolerol) Seravent (salmeterol), Primatene (epinephrine), Uniphyl (theophylline), and other bronchial dilators
• narcotic pain medicines like Demerol (meperidine), tramadol, methadone, or propoxyphene
• over-the-counter cold or cough medications that contain dextromethorphan (which is related to narcotic pain medicines)
• Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine; a muscle relaxant with a structure like an antidepressant)
• Strattera (atomoxetine; a medication for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with a structure like an antidepressant)
• stimulants used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder such as Ritalin (methylphenidate), Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine), and Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts)
• guanethidine, methyldopa, reserpine, dopamine, or levodopa.
• BuSpar (buspirone; an anxiety medication)
• seizure medications like Tegretol (carbamazepine) and Trileptal (oxcarbazepine)
• supplements containing St. John’s wort, tyramine, or tryptophan
• methamphetamine or cocaine
• prescription or over-the-counter weight loss products, decongestants, or cough and cold medicines without clearing them with your doctor
• any other substances your doctor advises you to avoid
