There are two HPV vaccines: Gardasil and Cervarix. Gardasil is recommended for girls and women ages nine to twenty-six and is given in a series of three injections at zero, two, and six months.
Cervarix is expected to be approved for use in the United States in 2009. It is recommended for girls and women ages ten to forty-five and is given in a series of three vaccines at zero, one, and six months.
